Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department is hiring a Flight Paramedic to join a team of air transport experts, providing high-quality patient transport to medical facilities and on-scene calls. The role emphasizes safety, patient care, and adherence to aviation medical standards.

The position requires a minimum of three years of 911/critical care experience with EMT-P license and relevant certifications; FP-C within 24 months is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting.
• EMT-P license required; FP-C within 24 months preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP and trauma certification required prior to flight status.
• Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
• NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the required time frame.
• Perform daily base checks, including narcotics count.
• Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital ALS care from first contact to handoff.
• Maintain competency through ongoing labs and clinical experiences.
• Document licensure, certifications, CE, safety, and advanced procedures in Education Manual.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
• Foster positive relationships with colleagues, EMS, hospitals, and the public.
• Serve as a medical flight team member and participate in pre/post mission briefings.
