Apollo MedFlight is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our air medical team. You will provide advanced critical care during transport and work with a multidisciplinary crew to ensure safe patient care.

The role requires a 2-year nursing degree and state licensure across regions served, plus strong teamwork and professional standards. Daily duties include clinical assessments, equipment checks, and adherence to protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed in states served by Apollo MedFlight CBS.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in high acuity setting.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS at hire; NRP within 3 months and maintain thereafter.
• Advanced trauma course (ATLS audits or equivalent) within 6 months.
• CFRN or CTRN within 2 years of employment.
• NIMS 100 and 200 completed within 1 year of hire.
• Live in or relocate to the region within 6 hours of base.

As a Flight Clinician, you will be an integral member of our air medical team, providing advanced critical care, sound clinical judgment, and support to patients throughout every transport.

A day in the life:

• Daily Crew Duties (Peer Reviews, Daily Bag Checks, Narcotic Accountability, Hanger/ House Duties, Patient Follow Ups, Daily Crew Call)
• Both attendance and instruction of internal continuing education
• Public Relation Events
• Be familiar and comply with standing medical guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Provide an environment conducive to safety for patients, families, employees, and other healthcare professionals.
• Aircraft include Fixed Wing & Rotor Wing platforms
• Sled, Stretcher Systems
• Monitoring Devices include but not limited to Zoll Monitors, Fetal Monitoring Systems, and glucometer
• Extra Capabilities include blood products, point of care labs, and Ultrasound
• Regional Capabilities include ballon pump, impella, and ECMO transports
• Trauma Equipment include but not limited to immobilization devices, hemorrhage control devices, etc.
• Respiratory support equipment utilized but not limited to: Hamilton T1 ventilators, H-900, BVMs, Oxygen delivery devices
• Medications include, but not limited to: Narcotics, ACLS medications, RSI medications, and other medications noted throughout the Standing Medical Guidelines & On-Line Medical Control
• Telephone/ Push to Talk Radios/ Aircraft Satellite Phone
• Computer bases systems utilized include EMS Charts, Baldwin Safety, Expensify
• Other items may not be listed but will be utilized when deemed necessary for safe patient transport

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

• Ability to work in a confined and mobile critical care transport environment.
• Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors, airport line staff, and others.
• Ability to remain calm during stressful situations.
• Ability to respond to phone calls quickly.
• Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make decisions as a critical care team.
• Ability to repeatedly twist, squat, stoop, bend, grasp, use fine hand coordination, push, and pull.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. independently and more with assistance.
• Exposure to infectious diseases, agents, and toxic chemicals.
• Ability to mix & administer medications, with correct knowledge of proper concentrations & dosages

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• License in all states served by Apollo MedFlight CBS.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in high an acuity setting.
• Must have BLS, ACLS, PALS at hire, NRP certification within 3 months of hire and must maintain throughout employment.
• Advanced trauma course (one of the following) within 6 months of hire.
  • ATLS Audit
  • TPATC
  • ATCN, PHTLS, or TNCC with advanced pathophysiology and skills lab
• CFRN or CTRN is required within 2 years of employment.
• Completion of NIMS 100 and 200, within one year of hire is required.
• Live in or be willing to relocate to the region (within 6 hours or less of assigned base)
• Valid Driver’s License
• Regular and reliable attendance

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Flight Nurse.
• Bachelor’s degree or above.
