Job summary

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, AL is hiring a Flight Line Avionics Technician for a contract role. The candidate will perform FTP, pre/post-flight inspections, and prepare aircraft for test flights. Requires ability to troubleshoot avionics and support line operations. Rotation shifts and passport may be needed.

The team works on A220 and A320 family lines; new tasks include learning and applying complex avionics procedures on the shop floor.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of electrical/Mechanical theory.
  • Able to read approved aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics and maintenance procedures (AMM/IPC/AWD/SB).
  • 3 years’ experience with Applied Science in Avionics.
  • A&P or FCC license required.
  • Ability to obtain Repairman Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft system Functional Test Procedures (FTP) and Pre/Post flight Daily Inspection.
  • Prepare built aircraft for test flight readiness.
  • Troubleshoot aircraft systems and support Flight line operations at Airbus FAL Mobile.

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Flight Line Avionics Technician to join our Final Assembly Line based in Mobile, AL
The ideal person for this job will perform aircraft system Functional Test Procedure Test (FTP) / Pre /Post flight Daily Inspection, and prepare built aircraft for test flight readiness. Ability to learn new tasks and techniques in trouble shoot aircraft systems and support Flight line operation at Airbus FAL Mobile Flight line Organization.

Your working environment:
On ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.
Your challenges:
  • Basic knowledge of electrical/Mechanical theory and thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, and dial indicators, micrometers and powered/non-powered support equipment
  • Capable of reading and interpreting approved aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics and maintenance procedures: AMM/IPC/AWD/SB
  • Ability to perform work in the confined space area, height condition and outdoor environment condition
  • Use a variety of standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices and test equipment in completing work assignments, and jigs/Fixtures with associated license, such as but not limited to: Crane, Cherry-picker, Fork lift, Lifting platform, Loading platform
Your boarding pass:
  • 3 years’ experience with Applied Science in Avionics
  • A&P, or FCC license
  • Ability to obtain a Repairman Certificate
  • Valid Driver License
  • Must be willing to work Rotation shift schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport which allows unrestricted travel
  • High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred
  • 5 years minimum aviation experience, preferably in an aviation manufacturing or MRO environment
  • Basic operating computer skills: Google
This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.
