Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. seeks a Flight Line Avionics Technician for our Mobile, AL operation. The role involves performing FTP, pre/post-flight checks, and preparing aircraft for test flights, with a focus on learning new troubleshooting techniques and supporting flight line operations.

Ideal candidates bring 3 years’ avionics experience, A&P or FCC license, and the ability to obtain a Repairman Certificate. This is a temporary contract with on-site work and rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience with Applied Science in Avionics.
• A&P or FCC license is required.
• Ability to obtain a Repairman Certificate.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including days, evenings, weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform aircraft system FTP/Pre/Post flight Daily Inspection and prepare aircraft for test flight readiness.
• Learn new tasks and troubleshoot aircraft systems to support Flight line operations.
• Read and interpret approved diagrams, charts, schematics, and maintenance procedures (AMM/IPC/AWD/SB).
• Operate standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, and test equipment on assigned tasks.

Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Flight Line Avionics Technician to join our Final Assembly Line based in Mobile, AL.

The ideal person for this job will perform aircraft system Functional Test Procedure Test (FTP) / Pre / Post flight Daily Inspection and prepare built aircraft for test flight readiness. They must have the ability to learn new tasks and techniques in troubleshooting aircraft systems and support Flight line operations at Airbus FAL Mobile Flight line Organization.

Your working environment:

On ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your challenges:

• Basic knowledge of electrical/Mechanical theory and thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and powered/non-powered support equipment.
• Capable of reading and interpreting approved aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics, and maintenance procedures: AMM/IPC/AWD/SB.
• Ability to perform work in confined spaces, height conditions, and outdoor environment conditions.
• Use a variety of standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices, and test equipment in completing work assignments, and jigs/fixtures with associated licenses, such as but not limited to: Crane, Cherry-picker, Fork lift, Lifting platform, Loading platform.

Your boarding pass:

• 3 years’ experience with Applied Science in Avionics.
• A&P or FCC license.
• Ability to obtain a Repairman Certificate.
• Valid Driver License.
• Must be willing to work a rotating shift schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport which allows unrestricted travel.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 5 years minimum aviation experience, preferably in an aviation manufacturing or MRO environment.
• Basic operating computer skills: Google.

This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.
