Job summary

Southern Illinois University Carbondale's School of Aviation seeks applicants for term, non-tenure track flight instructor positions at the rank of Assistant Instructor in Aviation Flight (Associate of Applied Science). Qualifications

• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating.
• FAA Certified Flight Instructor-Airplane Single Engine Certificate (CFI).
• Either a bachelor’s degree by date of hire, or CFII within four months of date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual flight instruction to students enrolled in Aviation Flight courses and maintain training records.
• Assist faculty as needed in teaching aeronautical and aircraft systems classes leading to FAA certificates and ratings.
• Adhere to university, FAA, accreditation, collective bargaining agreement, and other policies.
