Job summary

NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, located in Pasadena, California, seeks an Electromechanical Development Technician to perform complex electromechanical assembly, integration, and testing for flight hardware. You will read engineering drawings, follow procedures, and ensure cleanroom safety, mentoring junior staff while coordinating with engineers.

This safety-sensitive role requires deep hands-on experience, vibration and test support, and frequent travel for off-Lab integration campaigns.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with extensive aerospace electromechanical experience (10 years) or relevant degree paths.
• Associates degree with at least 6 years related experience; Bachelor’s with at least 3 years.
• Ability to interpret technical docs and schematics, including electrical diagrams and assembly/test procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality assembly and integration of flight hardware and subsystems.
• Read and follow engineering drawings, assembly procedures, and electrical diagrams.
• Ensure strict adherence to flight hardware handling, cleanroom protocols, and safety requirements.
• Support fabrication, assembly, transportation, and load testing of MGSE hardware.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical system failures by root-cause analysis and corrective action.
• Mentor less-experienced technicians and contribute to team development.
