Job summary

Rocket Lab is hiring an Electro-Mechanical Technician III in Pasadena, CA to join our manufacturing team. You will perform precise mechanical and electrical assembly of PCB assemblies for flight hardware, fabricate wire harnesses, and execute soldering/resoldering on TH and SMT components.

You will support conformal coating, assembly integration, and functional testing on flight and non-flight hardware while contributing to first article builds and production process development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with relevant electro-mechanical assembly experience.
• Proficiency in both through-hole and SMT soldering/resoldering techniques.
• Experience using or soldering under a microscope.
• Demonstrated experience fabricating harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Prototype development and first article builds experience.
• Experience performing electronic testing and inspection using portable measuring devices.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow schematics, drawings, layouts, and parts lists.
• MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• U.S. Citizen mandated by program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and electrical components for flight hardware on a cross-functional team.
• Build electrical sub-assemblies and wire harnesses.
• Perform soldering/resoldering on through-hole and SMT parts.
• Support coating, masking, and epoxy processes.
• Assist with mechanical integration of electro-mechanical systems.
• Conduct functional tests on flight and non-flight hardware.
• Prepare first article harnesses and prototype assemblies.
• Validate parts lists for avionics and electronics hardware.
• Contribute to development of production processes for first-time runs.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and watch hardware evolve to a rocket.
