Job summary

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) seeks a Flight Equipment Technician to support the AV-8B program at MCAS Cherry Point, NC. Primary duties include inspecting, repairing, and certifying aircrew flight equipment and related systems for mission readiness.

The role requires extensive hands-on maintenance experience, adherence to safety and regulatory standards, and the ability to work under a fast-paced, mission-critical environment with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience maintaining aircrew flight equipment and three (3) years of experience supporting flight line operations.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance, including successful completion of a Tier 1 National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
• Thorough knowledge of inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, modification, and replacement procedures for aircrew flight, survival, and life-support equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections, troubleshooting, testing, maintenance, repair, and modification of aircrew flight equipment (parachutes, life rafts, oxygen masks, etc.).
• Ensures proper fitting and donning of aircrew gear and assists aircrew in equipment use.
• Diagnoses and resolves malfunctions in aircrew flight and survival equipment, coordinating with aircrew and maintenance personnel.
• Certifies aircrew equipment as safe for flight and logs entries in maintenance records and data systems.
• Performs operational and continuity checks on survival radios and beacons.
