Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a qualified professional to join the Earth Orbit Flight Dynamics Department. You will provide flight mechanics expertise for launch vehicles and spacecraft, including trajectory design, astrodynamics analyses, and RPO optimization, while collaborating with engineering partners to deliver robust solutions to national space programs.

Minimum requirements include a degree in engineering/physics/m math, 2+ years in flight mechanics, and proficiency in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical/astronautical engineering, physics or applied mathematics, or related disciplines
• Two years of experience in flight mechanics, astrodynamics, trajectory optimization, and related areas
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages/environments: C, C++, Fortran, Python, Linux, and/or MATLAB
• Ability to travel domestically ~10% and obtain/maintain a US security clearance (TS/SI preferred)

Responsibilities

• Trajectory design and optimization for launch vehicles and spacecraft in LEO, MEO, HEO, GEO
• Astrodynamics analysis including orbit propagation and maneuver design
• Analyze vehicles with chemical and/or electric propulsion
• Assess and improve system resiliency for contested missions
• Develop and apply flight dynamics tools and concepts of operations
