Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA, invites motivated students to join the Emerging Missions Flight Dynamics Department for full-time, on-site internship. You’ll work on flight mechanics, trajectory design, and spacecraft performance optimization alongside an interdisciplinary team.

Collaboration with defense, civil, and commercial customers is expected. Minimum requirements include enrollment in a Master’s or PhD program (a Bachelor’s degree completed), GPA 3.0+, and experience in

Qualifications

• Graduate-level coursework or research in orbital mechanics, astrodynamics, or related fields.
• Experience programming in one or more languages: C/C++, Fortran, Python, or MATLAB.
• Ability to obtain and maintain US government security clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply advanced techniques for flight mechanics and astrodynamics problems.
• Perform trajectory simulation and optimization for spacecraft, missiles, and reentry vehicles.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on ongoing research and programs.
• Apply standard techniques to prescribed scientific/engineering tasks.
• Work on full life-cycle projects from inception to launch.
• Participate in training and mentorship activities.
