Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Flight Dynamics Intern for Summer 2027 to support mission analysis, trajectory design, and maneuver planning. You will work with engineers on trajectory optimization, orbit determination, and tool development.

The program emphasizes hands-on, interactive work with strong written and verbal communication expected. All internships are onsite at CesiumAstro facilities and compensated competitively.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in BS/MS/PhD in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Completed coursework in orbital mechanics and flight dynamics.
• Hands-on experience with Python for engineering simulation and data analysis.
• Motivation to build, analyze, and solve technical problems via projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support flight dynamics analysis for trajectories, spacecraft design, and maneuver planning.
• Collaborate with CesiumAstro engineers on trajectory design, targeting, and validation.
• Present work to peers, mentors, and leadership during the internship.
• Develop and validate flight dynamics tools and scripts.
