Job summary
The Aerospace Corporation seeks an Engineering Specialist/Senior Engineering Specialist in Flight Mechanics to join one of the Flight Dynamics teams. You will design trajectories, analyze astrodynamics, and develop operational concepts for complex space systems.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical/astronautical engineering, physics or applied mathematics, or related disciplines.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages and environments: C, C++, Fortran, Python, Linux, and/or MATLAB.
- Eight or more years of experience in flight mechanics, astrodynamics, trajectory optimization, or related fields.
Responsibilities
- Trajectory design and optimization for launch vehicles and spacecraft in LEO, MEO, HEO, GEO and other regimes.
- Astrodynamics analysis including orbit propagation and maneuver design/optimization.
- Developing and applying concepts of operations and procedures for space systems.
- Providing operational support for nominal launches, deployment sequences, anomalies, and on-call events.
- Leveraging tools and algorithms to create new capabilities and integrated submodules.
