Job summary

QinetiQ US is seeking an experienced Flight Director to support the DHS Customs & Border Protection Tethered Aerostat Radar System. You will manage aerostat flight operations and serve as the on-shift point of contact, coordinating with center staff and weather facilities to ensure mission readiness.

Qualifications

• 5 years aerostat experience with supervisory capability.
• High school diploma plus Weather Observation training required.
• Prior TARS aerostat certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Acts as single point-of-contact and control over Aerostat mission support during the assigned shift.
• Maintains current weather conditions and trends influencing mission support.
• Communicates with the TARS Control Center and meteorological facilities as appropriate.
• Prepares and maintains flight system weight logs and weight/balance records.
• Directs and performs maintenance on aerostat subsystems and telemetry equipment.
