Job summary

United Launch Alliance is seeking an Avionics Components Electrical Engineer to support and maintain hardware designs for the Vulcan and Atlas vehicles. You will become the CRE for flight avionics components and work with suppliers on testing and integration.

Required education is a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, with strong troubleshooting and communication skills. Occasional travel and on-call readiness are expected as part of launch-related work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to brief customers, vendors, and chief engineers on problems.
  • Willingness to travel for launch-related work.

Responsibilities

  • Become the Certified Responsible Engineer (CRE) for flight avionics components.
  • Develop and maintain component requirements (functional, physical, environmental).
  • Work with hardware suppliers to support component testing.
  • Address, troubleshoot, and resolve supplier issues or failures.
  • Analyze and document out-of-family data when observed.
  • Support integration of components onto the vehicle.
  • Resolve issues during launch site testing related to hardware.
  • Support reviews related to systems and components.
  • Partner with supply chain to manage contracts, SOWs, and supplier estimates.
