Job description

We are seeking a Flight Assembly Machinist to support our client's high-performance mobile manufacturing team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with strong machining skills and a passion for innovation in packaging automation. You will play a key part in fabricating and modifying parts for our patented mobile production system, working closely with engineering and operations to ensure precision and efficiency.

Position Responsibilities

Machining and Fabrication

• Fabricate and modify parts based on technical drawings and specifications
• Perform setups and operate CNC mills, manual mills, lathes, and drill presses
• Interpret complex technical drawings and instructions with precision
  

Assembly and Upgrades

• Support assembly efforts for Sojo Flight mobile rovers
• Install modifications, materials, and upgrades to machines and subassemblies
• Provide feedback and updates to engineering through accurate redlining of drawings
  

Maintenance and Shop Support

• Lubricate, clean, and service shop equipment as needed
• Maintain a safe and organized workspace at all times
  

Collaboration and Documentation

• Work alongside engineering and operations teams to enhance quality and performance
• Follow schedules and procedures while recording updates in internal systems
  

Prerequisites

• 2–5 years of experience as a machinist in a manufacturing or assembly environment
• Proficiency with hand tools and machining equipment
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong sense of ownership and urgency
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• Valid Driver's License
  

Certifications (Preferred, but Not Required)

• Forklift Certification
• Electrical troubleshooting experience
  Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 General Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards
