Komar/Maren Engineering is an industry-leading recycling baler manufacturer located in South Holland, Illinois. Since 1962, Maren Balers and Shredders have manufactured the world’s best balers and shredders. Our balers handle high volumes of material with low labor inputs, creating high-quality and quantity recycled materials.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Machinist Mill Operator to join our team. The perfect candidate will need to be able to use a variety of hand tools and manual machine tools to create precision metal parts and instruments. They will need to interpret blueprints, sketches, or CAD designs, set up and operate equipment, and perform accurate measurements to ensure parts meet specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
  • Manual Machining.
  • Read Micrometers and calipers.
  • Operate lathes, mill machines and large drill press.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to understand product specifications.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and accuracy of parts produced.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines as needed.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications.
  • CNC Machining experience a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or relative experience and/or training for job classification.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
  • Depending on job classification, may require basic math and/or tape measure reading.
  • Depending on job classification, may require the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
