Job Title:Mazak Machinist - Horizontal Mill
Location: Ocean County, NJ
Hours/Schedule: Monday- Friday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Compensation: $33/hr - $37/hr (+built-in OT)
Type:Direct hire

We are a Mazak machine shop, in business 50+ years, family owned, 60+ employees and a leading supplier of specialty parts used on packaging machinery across the United States and globally. This company produces the replaceable blades, rollers & crimpers used on high speed packaging machinery. Our OEM replacement parts are purchased by many of the by large commercial food & snack distributors such as Frito Lay, NABISCO, and many, many other well-known consumer food manufacturers.

Mazak Machinist Responsibilities:

• We are seeking a journeyman Machinist with Mazak experience to join our team of motivated and skilled craftsmen. Our machinist take full ownership of their machine, set-up and change over. We are a team but work as independent cells.

• Sets up 5 axis, horizontal milling Mazak machinery.

• Preforms change overs, frequently, as our customer orders are each unique and each order is specialty crafted.

• Reads, studies and interprets detailed blue prints, diagrams and other sketches to set-up and dial-in machinery

• Preforms 100% quality control (QC) inspection on each unit produced, including using micrometers and calipers to check dimensions

• Uses computerized ERP software to update customer work order, preparesitems for customer and send material to shipping for packaging.

Mazak Machinist Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the set-up and operation of Mazak milling machinery is required.

• Proficient math skills, including geometry, are needed.

• Strong mechanical aptitude for problem-solving techniques and decision-making ability required.

• Ability to read and operate precision measuring instruments required.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints is required.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and general stooping, bending, and stretching required.

• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. required.

• The ability to work overtime is required.

• Communication and working effectively with peers and management in a team-oriented environment is required.
