Job summary

Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking an experienced actuation systems engineer to drive design from concept to flight test. You will own the development of actuation subsystems for control surfaces and related hardware, collaborating with structures and controls teams.

Work closely with electrical and software groups to ensure actuator control, health monitoring, and integration into the vehicle's flight control system. Will lead reviews and testing campaigns.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in a professional technical engineering role focused on actuation or electromechanical systems.
• Proven ability to size actuators, motors, gearboxes for reliable flight-critical use.
• Strong CAD skills and ability to produce high-quality drawings meeting industry standards.
• Experience with MATLAB/SIMULINK for actuator modeling.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive design and development of actuation systems from concept through flight test.
• Define actuation requirements in collaboration with structures, controls, and systems teams.
• Select and validate actuators, motors, gearboxes, and linked hardware.
• Coordinate with electrical and software teams to integrate actuation control and health monitoring.
• Lead design reviews and develop tests to verify performance under flight-like loads.
• Support bench testing, subsystem integration, and flight campaigns.
