Role Description

The Flexologist is a full-time, on-site role based at the StretchLab franchise location in Metuchen, NJ. In this role, the Flexologist conducts one-on-one assisted stretching sessions, tailoring each session to the client’s mobility, flexibility, and recovery needs while maintaining a safe and engaging studio environment. Daily responsibilities include greeting and educating clients, performing stretch assessments, explaining proper techniques, documenting client progress, and collaborating with the studio team to deliver consistent, high-quality service. The Flexologist also helps support membership sales by discussing session benefits, encouraging ongoing participation, and contributing to client retention through exceptional customer care. Additional tasks may include light studio maintenance, participation in training and continuing education, and occasional support for local events or marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Client care and communication skills, including the ability to build rapport, listen actively, and explain stretch techniques clearly and professionally.
• Background in fitness, wellness, or bodywork (e.g., personal training, yoga, Pilates, massage therapy, physical therapy or chiropractic support) and a strong interest in mobility and flexibility training.
• Ability to perform hands-on assisted stretching safely, including proper body mechanics, attention to client comfort, and adherence to StretchLab’s Flexologist™ training standards.
• Teamwork and reliability, including punctuality, willingness to follow studio procedures, and readiness to collaborate with other Flexologists and leadership.
• Basic sales and service orientation, with comfort discussing memberships, packages, and benefits of ongoing sessions in a respectful, client-focused manner.
• CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain it within a defined timeframe.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in fitness, wellness, or related fields are strongly preferred.
• Ability to stand, move, and assist clients throughout shifts, and to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
