Job summary

AWT Labels & Packaging seeks a production supervisor to lead and oversee all functional area activities in a cost effective manner. You will provide leadership, motivation and direction to personnel and participate in management team activities as requested.

The role requires Wide Web Flexo and Central Impression Drum experience, schedule staff efficiently, ensure accurate time sheets, and enforce safety and quality standards while meeting production deadlines.

Qualifications

• Five years print/manufacturing experience.
• Rewind and converting experience is helpful.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Wide Web, Central Impression Drum Flexo experience required.
• Schedule appropriate staff for all functional areas of production according to work load
• Ensure that available staff is effectively and efficiently utilized
• Review daily time sheets for accuracy and corrects and forwards to accounting/payroll administrative assistant by end of the following day.
• Job orders are assigned appropriately with guidance from the daily schedule and completed as scheduled
• Press assignments are made with consideration to special requirements and capability of staff
• Set and clearly define employee expectations
• Maintain consistent, accurate records and documentation of performance for employee appraisal and feedback
• Ensure that all state and local laws are followed with regard to safety and environmental regulations and practices
• Actively involved and interface with day-to-day department process management and be aware of department workload, activities and performance
• Participate in quality improvement initiative to ensure customer satisfaction and that all jobs meet or exceed estimated time and materials

• Review daily time sheets for accuracy and corrects and forwards to accounting/payroll administrative assistant by end of the following day. Undesirable patterns or misuse of time sheets are identified and the appropriate corrective action and training conducted as identified
• Job orders are assigned appropriately with guidance from the daily schedule and completed as scheduled
• Press assignments are made with consideration to special requirements and capability of staff
• Set and clearly define employee expectations
• Maintain consistent, accurate records and documentation of performance for employee appraisal and feedback
• Ensure that all state and local laws are followed with regard to safety and environmental regulations and practices

Physical Job Demands

This position requires a considerable amount of walking and being on your feet for long periods of time. Occasional lifting/carrying 50-75 pounds.

Education And Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent GED plus a minimum of five years print/manufacturing experience. Additional experience in rewind and converting helpful.
