AWT Labels & Packaging in Grand Blanc, MI, seeks a Flexographic Print Press Operator (2nd Shift). Schedule: Mon–Fri, 5:30 pm–2:00 am, with an additional $1.00/hour shift premium. Qualifications

• 3-5 years Flexographic experience.
• Able to move and lift 30+ pounds daily.
• Read electrical blueprints.
• Ability to use a voltage meter.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture product according to the assigned schedule.
• Complete paperwork to record and provide evidence of manufacture per specs.
• Perform daily press maintenance as defined.
• Set up jobs per documented process and maintain traceability samples.
• Work with finishing operators to produce zero defects.
• Notify quality of any nonconforming condition and contain affected product.
• Clean tooling per manufacturer recommendations.
• Submit material requisition forms to minimize downtime.
• Record equipment maintenance in the press maintenance log.
• Collaborate with team members to improve product and process.

AWT has the following position open in our Grand Blanc, Michigan location:

• Flexographic Print Press Operator (2nd Shift)

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, Hours are - 5:30 pm - 2:00 am. Additional $1.00/hour premium for 2nd shift. Additional days and hours may be necessary due to production requirements.

Required Job Duties

• 3-5 years Flexographic experience
• Manufactures product according to assigned schedule
• Completes paperwork to record and provide evidence of manufacture of parts according to internal and customer specifications
• Performs daily press maintenance as defined
• Uses tooling with care according to manufacturers recommendations
• Reports machine mechanical issues and documents

Job Description

• Practices safe work habits according to documented press practices and visual indicators (warning labels) of danger spots displayed on the press.
• Maintains an organized work space daily, including cleaning press surface areas and proactively moving materials and carts for optimum use of space.
• Sets jobs up according to documented process setups. Maintains samples of work produced for each job for traceability in the event of a customer concern.
• Works closely with finishing operators to produce product with zero defects.
• Notifies quality in the event that any nonconforming condition occurs. Initiates and contains any product that may jeopardize customer satisfaction . Fills out appropriate paperwork for containment activities.
• Cleans tooling according to manufacturers recommendations.
• Fills out required documentation for any re-tools required. Notifies production supervisor in the event of any damage to tooling.
• Submits material requisition forms for any supplies required to minimize downtime and assure efficiency.
• Performs daily press maintenance and notifies production supervisor of any mechanical problems. Records any equipment maintenance performed in the press maintenance book at each station.
• Works with team members to accomplish goals and to recommend improvements in both product and process.

Requirements

• Ability to move and lift 30 or more pounds continually throughout each day.
• Capable of operating flexographic equipment to produce print and blank labels
• Good basic math skills
• Basic keyboarding skills
• Focus and organized, very neat
• Desire to succeed in a culture of teamwork and accountability
• Speed in all tasks, with accuracy
• Ability to read electrical blue prints
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to use a voltage meter
• To be able to understand the complexity of press inner gearing and components
• To understand the ink systems
• To be able to decipher all print issues
