Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a production operator for its packaging operation in California. This role requires operating Flexo equipment, adhering to setup techniques, inspecting dies, maintaining box quality, and assisting fellow operators to meet production goals.

The position offers an hourly wage with annual bonus potential, paid vacation, holidays, and comprehensive benefits after hire.

Qualifications

Must be able to work overtime on short notice, including weekends.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Set-up rails, print, and die cut section on Flexo accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.
Inspect all dies before and after run to ensure that repairs are made before the next run.
Ensure all bolts for cutting dies are in place and tightly secured.
Monitor box quality, including loose liner, warp, correct size, and print; check rolls for damage.
Maximize equipment utilization by operating machinery at available capacity and speed.
Assist Operator, Assistant Operator and Utility with job duties on the machine.
Complete necessary reports accurately and timely (Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data).
Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
Complete annual food packaging safety training and report any safety risks.
