Job summary

MCC Label in Chesapeake, VA, is seeking a Press Operator to produce premium printed labels and continuously monitor print quality and press conditions on the production floor. You will follow safety rules, perform make-ready, run production to customer specs, and complete quality checks to ensure color accuracy, registration, and adhesion while maintaining efficiency.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 1+ year of press operator experience; lifting up to 50 pounds and

• Must be physically able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.
• Report safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment through daily housekeeping.
• Perform make-ready per Job Ticket and Product Specifications to ensure correct cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers.
• Conduct quality checks on product specifications, visuals, and functionality.
• Operate press to meet customer specifications, with focus on quality, waste, and efficiency.
• Maintain consistent quality during runs; perform critical color, registration, and adhesion checks.
• Complete procedures and quality measurements as per BRC standard.
• Complete press makereadies efficiently.
• Perform equipment maintenance duties.
• Clean plates, cylinders, ink pans, and lubricate press as needed.
• Input material usage and time data into Radius system accurately and promptly.

ThePress Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions.

Responsibilities:

• OurPrintingPress Operators must adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.
• Reports all safety concerns or issues to their immediate supervisor.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment and area by completing daily housekeeping assignments.
• Completes make-readyin accordance withthe Job Ticket and Product Specification documents to ensure correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, andaniloxrollers are used.
• Responsible for completing all required quality checks related to product specifications, visual, and functional checks. Completes all press-side quality checks.
• Operates press to produce product in accordance to customer specifications whilemaintainquality, waste, and press efficiency.
• Maintains consistent quality during the production run. Critical quality checks includes: copy, color, and registration, and ink adhesion. Ensure conformance to all other quality checks.
• Responsible for completing all related procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements as outlined in the BRC standard.
• Completes press makeready’sin an efficient manner.
• Completes all required equipment maintenance duties.
• Cleans plate, cylinder, and ink pans, and lubricates press as needed.
• Inputs all required information into the Radius system for material usage and time in an accurate and prompt manner.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years as a printing press operator experience and/or training.
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
• This position requires frequent walking.
• Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
