Job summary

SMOC seeks a Transportation/Food Coordinator to oversee safety and food supplies at COE House and to support the Serenity Program Director. The role centers on transportation for COE and Serenity clients, with coordination of external appointments for up to 16 participants.

The position offers a 35-hour work week, flexible schedule, and comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities include meal planning, inventory, vehicle maintenance, and client transportation to appointments.

Qualifications

• This role requires working with female clients. Due to privacy and safety requirements this position is designated as female only.
• Understand the disease concept of addiction and knowledge of the 12 step program.
• Must transport clients in program van and be willing to use own vehicle when necessary.
• Physical Requirements include lifting 25 lbs, driving a van, and climbing stairs in a residential building.

Responsibilities

• Purchase food and food supplies as needed and monitor inventory.
• Assist clients with meal planning and development of shopping list.
• Oversee food storage areas at COE.
• Educate clients on kitchen health, safety, use of chemicals and cleanliness.
• Educate clients on nutrition and budget-friendly healthy meals.
• Transport clients to essential meetings and appointments.
• Coordinate daily external appointments for clients and maintain appointment log.
• Maintain all vehicle maintenance and vehicle driver logs.
• Drop off and pick up client medications as needed.
• Assist clients with volunteer jobs, vocational training and job search.
• Engage clients and address needs within or outside scope of work.

Skills

Valid driver’s license

Ability to lift 25 lbs

Able to drive a van

Willing to use own vehicle

Education

High School diploma or equivalent work experience
