La Mere Academy in Leander, TX is seeking a Flexible Support Team Member (Floater) to assist across classrooms, from infants to Pre-K, covering breaks and supporting daily activities.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED, experience with young children, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds; bilingual skills or a CDA are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support across all age groups from infants to Pre-K.
• Assist lead and assistant teachers with daily activities and routines.
• Cover breaks, planning time, and staff absences as needed.
• Supervise children ensuring safety, well-being, and engagement.
• Support learning activities, circle time, outdoor play, meals, and transitions.
• Assist with diapering, potty training, handwashing, feeding, and care needs.
• Prepare classroom materials, learning centers, and activities.
• Maintain clean, organized, safe classrooms and spaces.
• Follow licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and center policies.
• Foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Support events and enrichment programs, and step into different classrooms as needed.

Position Overview

The Flexible Support Team Member (Floater) plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the school. This position works with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and Pre-K students, assisting teachers, covering breaks, supporting classroom activities, and helping maintain a safe and positive learning environment. The ideal candidate enjoys variety, works well with all age groups, and is committed to delivering exceptional care and support to children and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support across all age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschool, and Pre-K.
• Assist lead and assistant teachers with daily classroom activities and routines.
• Cover teacher breaks, planning time, and staff absences as needed.
• Supervise children while ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement.
• Support learning activities, circle time, outdoor play, meals, and transitions throughout the day.
• Assist with diapering, potty training, handwashing, feeding, and other personal care needs.
• Help prepare classroom materials, learning centers, and educational activities.

• Follow all childcare licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and center policies.

Required Qualifications
