Job summary

Brentwood School District is seeking a substitute teacher to support instructional continuity across absences. This temporary role requires delivering planned lessons, maintaining a safe classroom, and following district procedures while communicating effectively with staff and families.

The position offers a self-determined schedule based on vacancies and a daily rate depending on certification. Candidates must have 60 college credits or DESE training, with teacher certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 60 college credit hours or complete the 20-hour training offered by DESE.
• Working on or conferred Bachelor’s Degree in education is preferred.
• Experience working with youth is preferred.
• Missouri teaching certificate in any subject area or Missouri Substitute Certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans.
• Creates a safe and orderly environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of all students.
• Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned.
• Maintains reasonable rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility.
• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated and maintains appropriate record keeping of student performance.
