Job summary

ESS is seeking Substitute Paraprofessionals to assist teachers in Greensburg, PA, supporting students with special needs and reinforcing instructional activities. You will help with classroom supervision and individual or small-group instruction, attend to students’ diverse needs, and support teachers with materials and transitions.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED and clearances as required by Pennsylvania law; TB testing may be required.

Qualifications

Requires High School Diploma or GED.
Background checks as required by Pennsylvania law (Act 24, Act 34, Act 114, Act 151, Act 168).
TB test completion is required.

Responsibilities

Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups.
Assist teacher with classroom management and supervision of the class.
Assist with administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials.
Supervise students in the cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, on field trips, and before/after school programs.
Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs.
Support students with special needs by following provisions in IEPs/504 Plans.
Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration.
