Job summary

Celebree School of Bristow in Bristow, Virginia is seeking a Substitute Teacher to support classrooms in a part-time, on-call role. You will help maintain a safe, nurturing environment for young children and assist with daily routines.

You will follow approved lesson plans, engage children with age-appropriate activities, and collaborate with lead teachers to provide quality care. This flexible position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and thrive in a team setting.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of 1 year of childcare experience preferred.
Ability to pass a background check and meet Virginia childcare licensing requirements.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Flexibility for on-call or short-notice assignments.
Physical ability to frequently bend, stoop, squat, reach, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
Assist lead teachers in classroom management, ensuring compliance with all regulations, company standards, policies, and procedures.
Follow established lesson plans and daily routines.
Engage children in age-appropriate learning activities, games, and storytelling.
Assist with feeding, diapering/toileting, and other basic care needs.
Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and a safe environment.
Communicate effectively and respectfully with children, staff, and parents.
Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
Present a positive and professional image at all times, adhering to uniform requirements.
