Job summary

Celebree School of Bristow is seeking a Part-Time Substitute Teacher to support our early childhood classrooms. You will follow daily routines, assist with activities, and help provide a nurturing environment for children while supporting lead teachers.

This on-call role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of childcare experience, and the ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certifications. Uniforms are provided, and the position emphasizes safety and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of childcare experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check and meet Virginia childcare licensing requirements.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Flexibility and reliability for on-call or short-notice assignments.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for working with children.
• Physical ability to frequently bend, stoop, squat, reach, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
• Assist lead teachers in classroom management, ensuring compliance with all regulations, company standards, policies, and procedures.
• Follow established lesson plans and daily routines.
• Engage children in age-appropriate learning activities, games, and storytelling.
• Assist with feeding, diapering/toileting, and other basic care needs.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and a safe environment.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with children, staff, and parents.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• Present a positive and professional image at all times, adhering to uniform requirements.
