Job summary

CJ BIO America - Fort Dodge in Iowa is seeking a Utility Operator to cover open shifts, including nights, days, weekends and holidays. The role involves operating utility equipment and performing routine audits and analysis of systems.

You will monitor equipment via HMI software, collect water samples, test pH and conductivity, maintain condensers and cooling towers, and help create or revise SOPs. Prior SAP/Excel experience is helpful.

Qualifications

Experience operating utility equipment in a manufacturing environment (compressor, chiller, cooling tower, water treatment, steam accumulator, gas regulator).
Ability to train to broaden knowledge of plant processes and equipment.
Strong communication with other departments.

Responsibilities

Operate open shifts for Utility operators.
Monitor and control utility equipment using HMI control software.
Identify, analyze and report equipment malfunctions.
Create or revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Collect water samples and test pH, hardness and conductivity.
Perform maintenance to major equipment (compressor, chiller, cooling tower, water treatment).
Monitor and maintain equipment with support of technicians from manufacture.
Schedule preventative maintenance and plant audits.
Review contracts with vendors, utilities and equipment.
