Job summary

Eastern New Mexico Medical Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide rehabilitative services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. You will assist patients of all ages in achieving daily living and mobility goals, implement prescribed interventions, and participate in care planning in alignment with safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 0–1 year of healthcare experience with adults, geriatrics, or individuals with physical disabilities.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience in inpatient, outpatient, or skilled nursing setting preferred.
• COTA license and BLS certification required to practice.

Responsibilities

• Administer OT treatment programs per plans and standards.
• Observe patient response and suggest plan adjustments to supervisor.
• Conduct group or individual activity-based therapy sessions.
• Document treatments and patient progress with co-signature by OT.
• Maintain communication with rehabilitation team and nursing staff.
• Ensure clean, safe treatment areas and report equipment issues.
