Job summary

Aberjona Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is a 123-bed facility that provides short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing services, and long-term care. We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our therapy team.

You will provide day-to-day treatment to residents, communicate with other disciplines to enhance interdisciplinary team rapport, document treatments, and supervise rehab aids while planning discharge needs.

Qualifications

• Current MA State License as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Graduate of an AOTA-approved Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
• Comply with state, federal, and AOTA standards of practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day treatment to residents, including self-care, functional transfers, ambulation, balance activities, and strengthening.
• Communicate with other disciplines and interact with staff to enhance interdisciplinary team rapport and improve patient care.
• Provide routine documentation and adjust treatments according to policy.
• Supervise rehab and restorative aids regarding patient treatments, ROM, restorative feeding groups, and positioning of patients.
• Meet discharge chart standards, including FIMS, home treatment programs, and equipment recommendations following discharge.

Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day treatment to residents, including training in self-care, functional transfers, functional ambulation, home living skills, perceptual and cognitive activities, and strengthening, balance, and coordination activities
• Communicate with other disciplines and interact with staff as necessary to enhance interdisciplinary team rapport and improve patient care
• Provide routine documentation and changes to treatments according to policy
• Supervise rehab and restorative aids regarding patient treatments, ROM, restorative feeding groups, and positioning of patients
• Meet department standards of completion of discharge charts, including FIMS, home treatment programs, and equipment recommendations following discharge

Qualifications:

• Current MA State License as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Must be a graduate of an AOTA-approved Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
• Must comply with state, federal, and AOTA standards of practice when planning and carrying out treatment programs and other functions of an Occupational Therapy Assistant
