Job summary

Henrico County Public Schools is seeking a Substitute/Temporary School Nutrition Services Worker for the 2026-2027 school year. Work is less than 5 days per week and involves food preparation, meal service, cashiering, recordkeeping, and kitchen cleanup.

Must be 18+ and able to travel to different schools as needed. Position is on-site at Henrico County school locations and includes duties across the school nutrition program.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow directions and work with food equipment.
• Ability to handle currency and operate a cash register.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and portions food.
• Operates food service equipment.
• Prepares serving line and serves food to students.
• Collects payment for meals and operates cash register/computer.
• Assists with collecting funds for prepaid meals and with record keeping.
• Stocks pantry and cold storage with food and supplies.
• Participates in daily kitchen cleanup and equipment maintenance.
