Job summary

Augusta County Public Schools in Verona, VA is seeking a School Nutrition Program Worker – Substitute for the 2026-2027 school year division-wide. The role provides support to food service operations, preparing and serving meals to students and staff while maintaining sanitary facilities.

You will follow standard recipes, assist with inventory, and ensure safety standards; reports and records are maintained, and teamwork is essential to cover multiple sites under the School Nutrition

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with food service preparation desirable.
• Basic math and ability to read and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Attends in-service training, workshops, etc. for the purpose of gathering information required to perform job functions.
• Cleans linens, utensils, equipment, and storage, food preparation and serving areas for the purpose of maintaining required sanitary conditions.
• Maintains records and reports for the purpose of keeping an accurate record of food used and student accounts.
• Receives food items and/or supplies and places them in designated areas utilizing temperature requirements and food spoilage guidelines.
• Oversees the preparation, cooking, and serving of food for the purpose of providing nutritious meals to students and staff.
