Job summary

Drivergent Transportation in Clinton Twp, MI is seeking a School Bus Driver to safely transport students and exceed customer expectations. You will ensure routes operate on time and place safety first in a busy environment.

Successful drivers are reliable, communicate well, and follow district policies, state/federal laws, and safety protocols while interacting professionally with students, parents, and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• RESA certification required
• CDL Class A or B with appropriate endorsements
• Must be 21+ years old

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe and reliable transportation of students; including all duties connected to operating a school bus per all applicable client district policies & state/federal laws
• Ability to manage and maintain all students on the bus in a calm and safe manner
• Conduct all pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required
• Report to duty on time and maintain route on time and in a safe manner
• Physically assist passengers in evacuation of the vehicle in case of emergency
• Inform all appropriate personnel of problems/procedures/incidents
• Complete all required paperwork (route change sheets, timecards, vehicle repair requests)
• Keep the interior of the assigned vehicle clean and presentable
• Present a neat and professional personal appearance at all times
• Maintain a professional attitude with parents, students, other staff members, fellow employees, supervisors, customers, and passengers
• Safely and efficiently utilize vehicle equipment, including wheelchair lifts, radios and emergency equipment
