Kroger is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker in Union, KY to greet customers, ring up purchases and provide helpful service at the register. You will handle cash, checks, cards, SNAP EBT, and loyalty offers, while following store policies and safety guidelines to ensure a positive shopping experience.

This role emphasizes accuracy, customer engagement and the ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the checkout.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and handle multiple tender types (cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers).
• Adhere to cash handling limits and prevent loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Inspect equipment and report needed repairs.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer product questions.
