Job summary

Kelly Education is seeking substitute school nurses (RNs) for Shawnee Mission School District in Kansas. The role supports student health services, immunizations, first aid, and medication administration within school settings.

Qualified candidates hold a valid RN license, CPR certification, and meet district health and safety requirements. This on-site position offers opportunities to train, develop, and contribute to a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years of age.
• Current CPR certification.
• Negative Tuberculosis test.

Responsibilities

• Provides health care services to students by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.
• Participates in medical examinations and reviews findings to evaluate health status of pupils and progress of program.
• Cooperates with school personnel in identifying and meeting social, emotional, and physical needs of school children.
• Administers immunizations, provides first-aid, and maintains health records of students.
• Consults students in good health habits.
• Promotes OSHA standards related to bio-hazardous materials, hepatitis, and first aid-CPR training.
• Monitors and documents dispensing of medications to students per policy.
• Verifies student identity and dosage instructions with office before dispensing medicines.
• Collaborates with office staff, principal, and/or parents regarding students excluded for medical reasons.
