Job summary

Union County, NC is seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist to provide therapy for students with clinical needs in a school setting, collaborating with the school social worker, counselor, teachers and other relevant individuals. The position offers a flexible schedule as required.

A Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field is required, with an associate licensure and up to 90 days to obtain full licensure. A valid driver’s license and state background check may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field from an accredited university.
• Associate level licensure as a Clinical Social Worker, Clinical Mental Health Counselor, or Marriage & Family Therapist; up to 90 days to secure licensure after graduation.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to maintain a safe driving history.
• Fingerprint background check may be required under NC statute.

Responsibilities

• Interpret clinical information to the team.
• Complete Comprehensive Clinical Assessments.
• Coordinate care including referrals to needed services.
• Provide regular outpatient counseling to individuals and/or groups.
• Intervene early to assist parents, teachers, and staff in crisis planning.
• Complete relevant paperwork promptly.
• Apply knowledge of child development.
• Educate and consult on behavioral health topics to staff, students, and parents.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
