Job summary

Harrisonburg City Public Schools is seeking a part-time Homebound Instructor for the 2026-2027 school year to support students confined at home or in health care facilities. The position offers a flexible schedule and a chance to create your own caseload.

Qualified candidates must hold a Virginia Teaching License and have experience with students in a school setting. Compensation is $35 per hour, with instruction time only.

• Experience working with students in a school setting

Responsibilities

• The homebound instructor will act as a liaison between the student and school; picking up assignments and returning them as needed
• The homebound instructor will provide appropriate instruction based on the student’s grade level and class assignments
• The homebound instructor will communicate student progress with teachers, counselors, and homebound coordinator or designee
• Homebound instructors will provide in person and/or virtual instruction based on the needs of the student.
