Job summary

Jobot is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Med-Surg Flex Unit within a major North Carolina health system. This is a direct-hire position providing care for a broad mix of general medical patients and surgical overflow, with opportunities to build clinical judgment across several specialties without leaving the unit.

A flex unit expands skills with established staffing ratios, CNA support, online self-scheduling, continuing education, and access to a large interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Active RN license to practice in North Carolina is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with at least one year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide nursing care for general medical patients and surgical overflow populations.
• Assess patients, identify priorities, and develop individualized plans of care.
• Care for patients with complex medical, postoperative, psychosocial, educational, and discharge-planning needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing teammates, therapists, case management, and other interdisciplinary resources.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, medications, recovery, and discharge needs.
• Participate in unit education, performance improvement, and evidence-based nursing initiatives.
