Job summary

Hanger, Inc. in the Sacramento area seeks a Prosthetist and/or Orthotist to deliver comprehensive prosthetic and orthotic care. You will assess patients, formulate treatment plans, and implement them, collaborating with physicians and the rehabilitation team to achieve superior outcomes.

The role involves fabrication onsite, fitting, follow-ups, and possible travel to nearby clinics. A current ABC/BOC certification or eligibility and state licensure, plus a valid driver's license, are required.

Qualifications

• Current ABC and/or BOC certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics, or eligibility.
• Bachelor's degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics or foreign equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain/state licensure where required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians to evaluate prosthetic/orthotic needs and advise treatment options.
• Examine patient needs related to disease and functional loss and formulate device design.
• Select materials, take casts, model modifications and layouts for fabrication.
• Perform fitting, including static and dynamic alignments; ensure fit and efficacy.
• Instruct patients in use of devices and provide follow-up with patients and physicians.
• Provide in-service training to clinicians and assist in reimbursement processes.
• May mentor residents or newly certified clinicians and collaborate with rehab teams.
