Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Production Cook for University of Mary Washington's dining program. The role involves preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold items across meal periods with a focus on quality, safety, and sanitation.

You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, maintain a clean station, and contribute to an exceptional dining experience while meeting client requirements and Sodexo standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current applicable standards to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing, cooking, and serving foods.
• Estimate requirements and maintain inventory to support production.
• Significant walking or other mobility.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
