Job summary

Minnesota Valley Surgery Center is seeking a dependable Sterile Processing Technician to support our surgical team on an as-needed basis. The role focuses on decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of instruments in a fast-paced orthopedic/spine setting.

The position is PRN, with Mon-Fri shifts, no nights or weekends, and on-site work in Burnsville, MN. CRCST/CSPDT certification is preferred, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Previous sterile processing experience preferred.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred.
• Knowledge of sterilization processes and infection prevention.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
• Flexible, as-needed scheduling based on departmental needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and decontamination of surgical instruments and reusable medical devices.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness and function before assembly.
• Assemble, package, and sterilize instrument sets according to protocols.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment and maintain records.
• Maintain instrument storage, organization, and tracking.
• Follow infection prevention practices and PPE requirements.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure instruments are available for scheduled procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized sterile processing environment.
• Assist with inventory management and report damaged or missing instruments.
