Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality patient-centered care. You will collaborate with providers for pre- and post-operative care and advocate for patients to ensure an outstanding experience.

You will assess patients, perform provider-ordered procedures, document care, administer medications, and maintain knowledge of cardiology and medical-surgical care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state of practice or has an active compact license.
• BLS required upon hire; ACLS required within 1 month of hire.
• Minimum 1 year PCU experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting changes.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in caring for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
• Collaborate with a team in a 19-bed PCU with orientation and ongoing educator support.
• Provide a flexible PRN schedule with a minimum commitment of 3 shifts a month up to 3 shifts a week.
