Job summary

INTEGRIS Health Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon, OK is hiring a Patient Access Specialist on a variable shift, PRN basis. You will handle patient access for diverse services, verify coverage, counsel on financial responsibilities and collect payments.

As a liaison among patients, providers, and payers, you will ensure accurate demographics documentation, explain coverage terms, and maintain HIPAA/compliance while delivering good customer service.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Patient Access operations activities (scheduling/registration/insurance) or related experience.
• Previous experience in scheduling, registration, insurance, billing, collections or customer service in hospital/physician office setting.
• May substitute 1100+ Career Tech program or one year of college coursework in related field for experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient access activities for ancillary, diagnostic, surgical and emergency services.
• Explain coverage benefits and patient financial liability to patients.
• Collect patient payments and document all account activity clearly.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding pre-care services, policies, coverage and billing.
• Respect EMTALA and HIPAA compliance and follow safety rules.
