Job summary

Marysville Post Acute in Marysville, CA is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. Under the supervision of a licensed OT, you will deliver skilled OT services and help residents regain independence.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) program.
• Current California COTA license in good standing.
• CPR Certification (if required by licensure).
• Ability to meet continuing education requirements.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred (Net Health and PointClickCare).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for helping residents achieve their highest level of independence.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments according to established care plans.
• Document treatments accurately and timely while meeting all facility, regulatory, and payer requirements.
• Help residents improve independence with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Educate residents and families on home exercise programs, safety techniques, adaptive equipment, and fall prevention.
• Recommend appropriate adaptive equipment and durable medical equipment to maximize resident independence.
• Participate in care plan meetings, rehabilitation conferences, and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
• Communicate resident progress with therapists, nursing staff, physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Assist with training Restorative Nursing Aides and provide in-service education for facility staff.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment through proper infection control and equipment maintenance.
• Support quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of resident care.
