Job summary

Gray Birch is seeking a skilled Per Diem Physical Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic team in Augusta, ME. The PTA will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to deliver essential therapy services, supporting patient mobility and function with a compassionate approach.

Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, documenting outcomes, educating patients and families, and assisting in discharge planning with adaptive equipment.

Qualifications

• Maine State Physical Therapy Assistant licensure required.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification preferred.
• Proficiency in implementing PT treatment plans and modalities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Execute treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Monitor patients’ responses and communicate progress or adjustments.
• Accurately document services and patient responses in a timely manner.
• Educate patients and families about plans, exercises, and adaptive equipment.
• Assist in discharge planning and use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
• Collaborate with the supervising therapist to ensure optimal patient care.
