Job summary

West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing is seeking a Per Diem MSS Personal Care Aide (PCA) for multiple sites in New York. The role provides hands-on ADL support to older adults in a nonprofit housing setting and is an internal temp position to fill shift coverage as needed.

The PCA will assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility, observe changes, maintain safety and confidentiality, and coordinate with nursing and building staff.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering respectful, person-centered care to older adults.
• Knowledge of ADLs, safety and dignity in care.
• Ability to observe changes and report promptly.
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate clearly.
• Basic English communication; bilingual may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with bathing, toileting, dressing and grooming while maintaining privacy and dignity.
• Help with eating per diet orders and safety guidelines.
• Observe changes in condition and report to supervisor.
• Follow infection control practices and PPE usage.
• Maintain a safe environment and document care notes per policy.
• Coordinate with nursing, social services and building staff.
• Respect confidentiality and professional boundaries.
