Maine Veterans' Homes is seeking a dependable Per Diem Housekeeping Aide to keep our facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for residents, families, and staff. The role rewards flexible per diem scheduling and meaningful work serving Veterans.

The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, reliable, and able to work independently or with a team while following infection control and safety procedures in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in healthcare housekeeping is a plus.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, offices, and clinical spaces.
• Perform routine housekeeping duties including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and trash removal.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures per facility guidelines.
• Replenish supplies in resident rooms and common areas.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the facility.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect for residents at all times.
• Work cooperatively with residents, families, staff, and other care team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, offices, and clinical spaces

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in healthcare or long-term care, is a plus
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
• Compassionate and respectful approach when working around elderly and disabled residents
• Basic computer skills
