Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Reno, NV to provide reliable security coverage at an assigned site with a fixed anchor shift and the option to pick up additional shifts.

This role offers $22.35 per hour with the potential to earn more through extra shifts, designed for income stability and gradual progression toward a full-time schedule within the industry leader's flexible, supportive workplace.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, public areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations, reporting unusual conditions or policy concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, assisting with visitor direction and access-control procedures as assigned.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with site procedures.
